“I really want to work!” expresses Taylor excitedly. His enthusiasm is undeniable even the mention of work and he’s beaming. Taylor is part of Hope Haven’s My Day program in Sibley where he has been developing vocational skills and envisioning life in the workforce. He’s had a specific employer on his mind for years a local agricultural manufacturing facility. Every time Taylor passes by the manufacturer’s building he’s sure to let everyone know “ That’s my dream job !”

And just this summer Taylor’s dream has materialized. Taylor is now proudly employed as a janitor– working for the very company he’s admired for so long. He’s utilizing the experience he gained over the years by participating in My Day and in past sheltered workshop experience. He now works two days a week and participates in My Day five days a week.

“He is excited everyday to go to his job and always tells me “This is my favorite job in the world ” says Brenda Post My Day DSP.
