Although four-year-old Monica was born without any complications she started experiencing seizures at four weeks old. After testing Monica was diagnosed with “chronic seizures”. However six months later she received a final diagnosis of Down syndrome. Monica’s family then searched for organizations that could provide services and therapy for her. A few months ago Monica’s family got the call from Hope Haven Guatemala that Monica would soon receive a wheelchair. “We feel very blessed with her. She is a very special girl for us and for her family ” comments Monica’s parents. “We thank Hope Haven for their work and we bless this institution. We hope that more children can be blessed.”
