A month after Elida’s birth she was admitted to the hospital due to pneumonia a high fever cough and other ailments. She struggled from the pneumonia for a full year requiring expensive medication for her care. Thankfully 8 months ago Elida was able to stop taking the medication.

At present Elida is 3 years old and her mother says that she has been unable to stand for about two years. She now she has more balance in her body but the process has been slow.  However she has learned to paint and play during the process.

This August she received a wheelchair and a Verticalizer from Hope Haven Guatemala. The Hope Haven team adapted a wheelchair and a Verticalizer to accelerate her recovery. Her mother expressed how very happy and grateful they are for this gift.
